Specialization : Ecology and systematic of insects, bioindicators, biodiversity surveys, ecological monitoring in western Himalayan Protected Areas.

Educational Qualification : Master’s in Zoology (Entomology) HNB Garhwal University-1983.
Ph.D in Zoology (Entomology) Kurukshetra University Haryana - 1989

Research Interest
  • Awarded UGC fellowship to work on the Taxonomic studies of Elateridae (Coleoptera: Insecta) from different areas of Rajasthan and Gujarat states (1984-87) and obtained Ph.D. degree from Kurukshetra University Haryana.

  • Faunal studies conducted under MAB-BSL (Beas-Satluj link) project on “Impact on construction and completion of Beas Satluj Project (Stage I&II) on changes in the faunal components with particular reference to their distribution and abundance” (1988) in Himachal Pradesh.

  • Worked as Assistant Research Scientist (1989-1995): Studies conducted on integrated disease vector control of malaria on tribal area in Mandla district of Madhya Pradesh. Main focus on bio-environmental control of malaria exclusively uses non-insecticidal methods of disease vector control, such as environmental modification and manipulation and biological control.

  • Worked as Biologist under FREEP-GHNP research project (1995-1999) on ecological studies in conservation of biodiversity and biotic pressure in the Great Himalayan National Park, Conservation Area, Himachal Pradesh. Long term ecological monitoring programme has been designed for the conservation area.

  • Participated in Nanda Devi ecological expedition in 2001. Expedition was conducted by Garhwal Rifles Regiment Lansdown. Biodiversity of the park has been monitored and documented.
